A Great Horned Owl has caused a bit of a stir at MSVU today by roosting right
next to the cafeteria window, giving a lot of people who've never seen an owl a
chance to view one at quite close range.

Some people are calling it a Barred Owl. I think the misidentification is based
on its round-headed appearance, but that's because its ear tufts are lowered. It
does a very good impression of a tree trunk and the crows have not yet noticed
it.
