I have seen large flocks (~500) moving around for no apparent reason after =
the main roost has settled down. For example=2C on Thursday=2C such a flock=
headed NW away from campus at 6:45 in silence=2C except for the sounds of =
their wings (which was really neat to see/hear!).

Subject: [NatureNS] Crow roost in fairview

All:

An acquaintance phone to say that last night a huge flock (he thought at le=
ast 1=2C000) of noisy crows was rossting in trees in Fairview=2C away from =
their usual nught roost behind Mt. St. Vincent U. They were there to at lea=
st 1 a.m. Anyone else note this? A termporary displacement because of preda=
tion?

Hi All=2C
&nbsp=3B
On Monday=2C Feb. 14=2C at about 8 a.m.=2C there was a significant display =
of "synchronized flying"&nbsp=3Batop the big&nbsp=3Bglass-cube building acr=
oss from the Dartmouth Bridge Terminal.&nbsp=3B Crows would fly in a few at=
a time=2C from all directions=2C&nbsp=3Band land on the roof ( you could s=
ee them sitting in a line around the&nbsp=3Bledge)=2C then a great group of=
them would all take off together=2C do a little fly-over of the Sportsplex=
=2C and go back to roost&nbsp=3Bagain.&nbsp=3B They did this several times =
while I was waiting for my bus.
