From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of Rosemary G Sent: February-13-11 6:21 PM To: NatureNS Subject: [NatureNS] Murder Mystery on the Roof I awoke this morning at sunrise to the sounds of very angry crows. I could not spot the predator that was upsetting them but I did see the evidence of what had happened to cause the outcry. On the roof of the garage in the snow were feathers from what could only be a crow that had just been eaten by a hawk. The flight feathers were large and black and there is no other bird in the neighborhood that would match those feathers except a crow. Can someone tell me what kind of hawk (High St. in Bedford) would capture a crow? I would appreciate any feedback/thoughts on this mystery. Thanks!
