--=====================_365620656==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed 5 Feb 2011 I have updated the NS Winter Bird List, located at the following URL: http://tinyurl.com/nswinter Given the recent harsh weather (with more to come?) I invite you to post additions to the DOWL, ie, the "Depths of Winter List", which comprises those species seen during the month of February, arguably the month with the least welcome weather and the most difficult birding conditions. I've done a quite check of the species reported to NatureNS and the NS Rare Bird Alert, and marked the species on the winter list. The current DOWL total (which was not done last year) is very low, so there are many opportunities to add to it. Send a message to NatureNS with DOWL in the subject line if you wish to notify me of additional February species. Keep in mind that this is very much an "unofficial" list -- it is maintained simply for the fun of it, and to encourage people to get out birding at this time of year.
