The first good bird of the day was a Barred Owl sitting on a fence post watching us intently and our last bird of the day was an Eastern Bluebird, posing nicely on a fence post with its chest puffed high, proudly showing off its beauty, as nearby a male Great Horned Owl called almost endlessly. The weather was wonderful, and Yarmouth Harbour was so full with such a variety of waterfowl, that it was a bit like, being on one of those nature specials. Birding Highlights from the day are listed below. - Cheers, Clarence Highway 101 - 1 Barred Owl - sitting on a fence post on Highway 101 between Exit 18 Middleton and Exit 19 Clarence & Paradise Yarmouth Harbour - 26 Species of Waterfowl - Thousands of Canada Geese included at least 3 Cackling Geese - 1 bright male Redhead and two, possible three, other Redheads - 1 male Eurasian Wigeon - 2 female Northern Pintails - 5 Gadwalls - 1 very tame male Barrow's Goldeneye On Chebogue Point Road - 1 Great Horned Owl calling almost non-stop for at least 45 minutes behind house # 430 - 1 Eastern Bluebird sitting on a fence post on Chebogue Point Road not sure if the others were nearby or not --0-13811350-1296397096=:88417 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><DIV> </DIV> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm">Jan 30/11 </DIV> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm"><BR></DIV> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm">Yesterday, Dad & I had a chance to do a little birding and our day had a nice sort of symmetry to it.
