All: Ronnie d'Entremont has sent some nice images of of a Lesser Black-backed Gull obtained Jan. 18 at W. Pubnico. I've placed one of these at the end of the Gull-Terns folder NS-RBA photos. The bird appears to be noticeably dark-backed compared with our usual subspecies _graellsii_, and might be a candidate for the n. European subspecies intermedius, which some think represents a cline (a zone of intermixing) between _graellsii_ of UK and s.w. Europe and the almost black-mantled n. Scandinavian subspecies _fuscus_. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren
