Hi all
At the outflow from the NS Power Plant in Trenton this morning Jan. 22, Rick Ferguson and I saw a male Eurasian Wigeon and a male Eurasian Green-winged Teal.
In the area were also 1 Gadwall, 20 American Wigeon. 5 Northern Pintail, 30 Hooded Mergansers, 10 Green-winged Teal, 1 Bonaparte's Gull, 1 Black-headed Gull,
1 Ring-billed Gull, 2 Kingfishers as well as hundreds of Canada Geese, Black Ducks, Mallards and Greater Scaup. A couple of Lesser Scaup were noted as well as a few Bufflehead, Common Merganser and Common Goldeneye. Rick was able to get a photo to show the 2 Teal types and the E. Wigeon in one frame. Will do a more thorough search on a less windy day. We were unable to locate a Great Blue Heron which was seen up to yesterday evening at School Brook near the N. end of
Egypt Rd. over the past week by Cheryl McLane and Tee Roberts. Rick also noted that his wife Linda saw a Great Blue Heron fly over Blue Acres in Stellarton yesterday.
cheers
Ken
