I am not in the habit of disclosing the details of my "equipment" to just anyone especially to someone I have not met or do not know what purposes they are looking for this information. Thus, if it is rude for me to take what I consider to be normal safety precautions, especially in dealing with strangers, on a very public Internet list serve and that I do not know who is lurking or collecting this information- then you are free to consider this procedure to be "rude." I have been more then generous in answering any questions about photography or birding with folks who come up to me asking about my "equipment' and I have and will continue to encourage folks to take up photography and/or to join the Bird Society. However, I are more wary of what I disclose in a public internet forum. I remain.
