Oops...most likely, then,=A0they probably were Bohemian Waxwings. Have to a=
dmit, was looking at them high in the tree,=A0with the sky behind them so r=
eally didn't see their colour clearly & then had to rush to work. None the =
less, it was an impressive sight.

As I looked out my back window yesterday morning, in disgust, at my bird-fe=
eders being over run by the 'winged rat' Starlings, I was pleasantly surpri=
sed to see a large flock of Cedar Waxwings wheel over and settle in the lar=
ge hardwood tree at the edge of the property. There were easily well over 1=
00 (my neighbour, Robie thought more like 200). They stayed perched up ther=
e, every branch completely covered by the Waxwings! I then had to head off =
to work but Robie said that they headed on down to the trees within the gre=
en belt just behind the Needs/Robbins store on Prince Albert Rd. He said th=
ey stayed for quite a while.
I only have one Baltimore Oriole coming to my feeders now (since last Tuesd=
ay). It is the female. She is very cautious and intimidated easily by the S=
tarlings. Though, not at all, interested in the mealworms, she is going int=
o the cage and=A0mostly only eating=A0the grape jelly and, occasionally, th=
e=A0homemade (Suzann Myers recipe) lard/peanut butter suet.=20
