I have one grackle and one male goldfinch in almost full summer
colouring at my feeders just now.

Also, one of my Christmas gifts was a book by someone I have never heard
of before, but which may be of interest to some in this group:
It is an account of a year in the life of a Nova Scotia-based woman who
is an artist and who offers shelter and assistance to injured/orphaned
birds (and miscellaneous other creatures), describing stories and
outcomes of the many creatures brought to her over the year.

She has published several similar books, won an award for oneand writes
well. Her own illustrations are excellent and the book makes enjoyable
and interesting reading:

Birds of a Feather: Tales of a Wild Bird Haven
