There were 10 Hooded Mergansers down-stream from the bridge. At the outflow area of the NS Power Plant in Trenton, there was a large concentration of mixed waterfowl (there was nothing there on the CBC). We noted 7 Green-winged Teal, 1 Gadwall, and 4 Am Wigeon with the group. At a Hillside feeder we saw a bright Pine Warbler with a second warbler likely a dull fem, Pine. It was mostly gray, with just a hint of wing bars, but I think a Pine. It disappeared before I could obtain a photo. There was also a White-breasted Nuthatch and Downy Woodpecker and Goldfinches at this feeder. There were 2 more Hooded Mergansers at Hillside and another 3-4 at the sewage treatment plant. Unfortunately, the snow was too heavy to continue, but in a couple of hours we tallies 37 species despite the heavy snow. No doubt more species would be dissected out in nicer conditions. I had missed the Pine Warblers, Less Black-backed Gull and Gadwall on the CBC Jan. 1. cheers ken --Boundary_(ID_71fNpVeKtSEBVvv9NbdkMA) Content-type: text/html; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" http-equiv=Content-Type> <META name=GENERATOR content="MSHTML 8.00.6001.18999"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Ken McKenna<BR>Box 218 Stellarton NS<BR>B0K 1S0<BR>902 752-7644</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Early this morning, Charlie Kendell and I discovered an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull on the ice in the East R. of Pictou upstream form the George St. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>bridge in New Glasgow.
