The SW Nova Birders in the early 90's had a tradition of seeing who
would get the most unusual birds of the new year. I remember Murray one
January 1st finding a Townsend's Solitaire in Barrington for our Lucky Bird!
My first bird of 2011 here in Halifax was a single Song Sparrow at the
seed feeder at Balcome Drive.
The next nine birds were: 6 Am. Goldfinch, 1 Common Grackle, 8
E.Starlings, 1 Am. Crow, 5 Herring Gulls, 3 Am Black Ducks, 1 Bluejay, 4
Mourning Doves, 4 Juncos.
