Briefly for now, I was stopped on the road between Monks Head and Pomquet PP observing some Bonapartes Gulls over a cove trying to find anything different such as Black-headed Gull when 2 birds flew through my bino view heading SW from Pomquet PP area. I immediately started to follow these 2 chunky pigeon-sized birds because of the startling black and white pattern and the unusual flight pattern. I also immeditely yelled to Jean McGee and Rob Reid in the vehicle to get out and follow these birds. Jean was able to get on them and we followed them for maybe a minute or more. We noted the clean white belly and white underwing pattern, black terminal tail band with white above this. I suspected Lapwing and when we went to the Sibleys it was a very good match for what we saw. Not sure where these birds might end up, but hopefully others might catch sight of these or maybe more that might be visiting the province. cheers Ken --Boundary_(ID_dL5BG/rTHM8NvaNeQIt4uQ) Content-type: text/html; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" http-equiv=Content-Type> <META name=GENERATOR content="MSHTML 8.00.6001.18999"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Ken McKenna<BR>Box 218 Stellarton NS<BR>B0K 1S0<BR>902 752-7644<BR></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Hi all</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I am pretty confident of an observation this afternoon (~ 14:30) of 2 flying Northern Lapwings while doing the Antigonish CBC. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Briefly for now, I was stopped on the road between Monks Head and Pomquet PP observing some Bonapartes Gulls over a cove</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>trying to find anything different such as Black-headed Gull </FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>when 2 birds flew through my bino view heading SW from Pomquet PP area.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I immediately started to follow these 2 chunky pigeon-sized birds </FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>because of the startling black and white pattern and the unusual flight pattern.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I also immeditely yelled to Jean McGee and </FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Rob Reid in the vehicle to get out and follow these birds. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Jean was able to get on them and we followed them for maybe a minute or more. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>We noted the clean white belly and white underwing pattern, black terminal tail band with white above this.
