Hi all:
=20
I just fed the birds and stepped into the house to watch the flurry of acti=
vity and what to my wondering eyes should appear=2C but a lark sparrow. A =
new yard bird and much excitement for me. The last bird that I ever would =
have expected to see here. This bird is changing from first winter plumage=
into adult plumage. 2242 Bayport=2C Lunenburg County is the location. Of=
course shortly after my sighting the multitude of birds disappeared in a f=
lash as the neighbour let the two cats out. One cat is nice and only goes =
after mice. This cat had a bird a few years ago and was snubbed by the nei=
ghbour and I've not seen that cat with a bird since. She just sits and is=
content to watch the birds. It is the other one that concerns me as it is=
a bird killer. If you drop by the feeders of which I have some on the sid=
e and some in back=2C the lark sparrow was under the back feeders. If the =
cats are present it is not worth looking as the ground feeding birds will n=
ot be around. That is unless it is the black cat=2C which they know will n=
ot disturb them.
