Then it finally stretched its neck allowing us to see its black beak and straight neck. The teardrop on the beak was hard to see due to the distance and the bright sun being in the way. It frequently fed by itself. The time was 11-30-12 15 pm. Birders present were Bill Hughes, Shirley Hughes, Ann Morrison, and myself. Thanks to Peter LeBlanc for the report. Liz From: Rosemary G To: NatureNS Sent: Wednesday, December 01, 2010 9:40 AM Subject: [NatureNS] Tundra Swan The Tundra Swan is still present this morning in First Lake in Sackville. It can be best viewed from the gabezo/bandstand next to the Kinsmen Recreation Centre at 71 First Lake Drive. The swan is a little further out in the water than it was yesterday evening (at least as of 8 - 9:00 a.m.) but hopefully it will move back in closer now that the student traffic on the walking trail has quieted down.
