The= newest=C2=A0visitor is a fairly easy to see Gray Catbird. The only bad thi= ng about its arrival is that previously any catbird-like sounds one heard w= as coming from the House Wren now only the =E2=80=9Coff sounding catbird=E2= =80=9D is the wren.=20 The lone Common Redpoll that arrived last weekend has picked up a few buddi= es, forming a small flock of 5 birds.=20 I was happy to see the immature female Pine Warbler, (last observed over a = week ago) as this means all 3 Pine Warblers are still in the area.=20 Only 1 of the 5 Chipping Sparrows is still around and Dennis Garratt report= s that my well marked Lincoln Sparrow that I last saw on November 11 is als= o still present.=20 Just before I left this morning I had a mystery skulker, staying in the dee= pest parts of the bushes but kicking up leaves like crazy. They only moveme= nt I could see suggested a thrasher sized bird but the sounds it made were = more towhee-like so I am leaning in that direction.
