  These are sometimes called fish balls and are used as an artificial =
fish habitat especially where infilling of shoreline occurs and =
Departments of Environment requires replacement of lost habitat.  These =
are placed in groups to create the habitat having an area somewhat equal =
to the area of infilling. We have developed a similar precast shape for =
lobster habitat =96 =93Lobster Lodges=94. =20

  While birding at The Guzzle recently I came across two bucket-shaped =
concrete forms about 2 feet high, with several smooth deep concave holes =
in them.My first thought was piddock clam holes but they seem too big, =
although I have seen quite large piddock holes resembling these in =
rocks. Maybe=20
  these are something to do with fishing or boating, but nobody seems to =
know.
