Hi, all-

Those of you who know, or know of, Fred Scott and John Gilhen will be
pleased to hear that they were both honored by Acadia University at a
special convocation today. Fred and John received honorary Doctor of
Science degrees.

The citations were presented by Don McAlpine of the New Brunswick
Museum, and the degrees were conferred by President and Vice-Chancellor
Ray Ivany, and Vice-President Academic Tom Herman.

It's entirely appropriate that these two remarkable scientists have been
recognized for their lifetime of service to natural history, especially
Nova Scotia natural history. Congratulations, Fred and John!

Peter Payzant

p.s. I've posted a few photos here <http://www.pbase.com/ppayzant/doctors>.
