We tried several times to see the Ruff at the Sydney airport but all of the birds were on the airstrips and very distant. No luck seeing it and here is a list of what we saw today at the Sydney Airport, Glace Bay Lake, Schooner Pond, Port Morien, Beacon St. Dam and Sandy Lake Road. Pictures will be posted (once I finished processing) to my gallery. I'm introducing a new phrase to my list-photo lifer meaning-a new lifer seen and a photo taken. 50+Golden Plovers 50+Black bellied Plovers Bohemian Waxwings (photo lifer) Hooded Mergansers (Lifer) Mallards American Wigeons Eurasian Wigeons "Jump the Fence" Ducks (mixed species offsprings) Redheads Ring-necked Ducks Eastern Phoebe (photo lifer) Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Nashville Warbler Orange-crowned Warbler Yellow-rumped Warblers Indigo buntings Black-capped Chickadee Dark-eyed Juncos Pine Grosbeaks American Robins Bald Eagles American Crows Red-breasted Mergansers Blue Jays Mourning Doves Raven Herring Gulls Black-backed Gulls Ring-billed Gulls Rock Doves Starlings Long-tailed Ducks American Black Ducks Canada Geese Buffleheads Ruffed Grouses (both red and grey phrase) (photo lifer) White Throated Sparrows Song Sparrows Fox Sparrow (Photo lifer) Tuma Young Halifax/Cape Breton Koqwaqja'tekaq'tinej.
