All: Bernice and I did some casual birding as far as 3-fathom Hbr, HRM. The only sighting of note was a much buffeted Wood-Pewee at the top of the hill at Cow Bay opposite to the road to the naval gunnery facility. I'm almost certain it was an Eastern -- late, but not record late. It tended to perch upright on wires with tail slightly drooped -- an alerting feature cf. W. Wood-Peewee. It was also rather pale-breasted. Couldn't get good looks at wing bar features. With Cave Swallows in numbers in s. Ontario and coastal Massachusetts, and at least one in Maine (along with a Bronzed Cowbird), it looks as though the strong airflow from the U.S. Southwest is bring birds hither. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren
