They were both on a floating platform off Regatta Point (the housing development just north of Melville Cove. She is quite familiar with cormorants, and said that there were similar but larger, and with the same long neck. She was able to get one picture (she only has a "people popper" camera and sent it to me, and the upper third of one bird is clearly very light. I can forward the picture, such as it is, to anyone who wants to see it. If anyone is birding around the arm, it might be worth keeping an eye open for them.
