Fulton observed a Short-eared Owl in = around 2:30 pm and Fulton and Mike saw a Western Sandpiper at some point du= ring the day.=20 Footnote: The great thing about birds is that they always have a new trick = up their sleeve. The sun had set and we were headed back to the car when I = looked up and spotted a smaller bird flying in the sky with a flock of robi= ns. Fortunately the entire flock landed fairly close to us in a lone tree. = I excitedly raised my binoculars hoping to add another new bird for the day= and there sitting in the middle of a flock of American Robins with his che= st proudly puffed out was a White-throated Sparrow.
