Index of Subjects --0-1133546746-1286808230=:75770 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I did some birding before, during and after doing a beached bird survey at Seaforth yesterday. Shorebirds at Shore Road included about 15 Greater Yellowlegs, 20 Black-bellied Plovers (and perhaps a golden-plover or two, but I didn't get a good enough look to be sure), about 15 small peeps (I think Least Sandpipers, but they were distant) and two Dunlin. Two Great Blue Herons were following the yellowlegs around, and there were black ducks and Green-winged Teal. In the air were the usual gulls, an Osprey, a female Northern Harrier and of course, a Bald Eagle. At Seaforth, there was a flock of about 20 American pipits on the wrack line of the beach. At Shore Road, some cormorants were sitting on a distant sandbar and I tried getting some photos with my camera (higher magnification than my binoculars) to see if any were Greats. As I went back over the photos at home, I found a single image of a bird that had flown near the cormorants without my ever actually seeing it. The photo is very poor, but please view it here: Unknown bird The bird on the right is a DC Cormorant, the mystery bird is on the left. Any thoughts on id? If it's what I think it is, my camera just got a lifer, but I didn't.
