Hi all, Early yesterday morning a Dickcissel flew over the alders between the osprey nest and the cement platform overlooking Back Cove. Light was poor but it very helpfully kept repeating its low buzzy call. I have no clue whether it planned to stop; it was flying low but just kept going. The alders at that time of day were hopping with migrants, not surprisingly after such a perfect night, mostly Yellow-rumped Warblers as far as I could make out, and there was an ordinary but still fun mix of warblers in Back Cove a bit later. Cheers, Andy Horn Halifax
