Cole Harbour Heritage Trails Hike Saturday, Sept 25th. Meet at 2:00 PM in the parking lot at the Red Barn on Bisset Rd, Cole Harbour Contact Wendy McDonald, 443-5051.
Join the Halifax Field Naturalists for a hike on the trails. The trail is medium difficulty - trails are crusher dust with some gentle changes in elevation.
Effects of Urbanization on Reptiles & Amphibians of N.S. Thurs Oct 7th - 7:30 PM in the auditorium of the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History. Contact 405-7446.
Join the Halifax Field Naturalists with Dr Ron Russell an associate professor of biology at SMU, for a discussion on the research in to the effect of urbanization on the reptiles and amphibians of Nova Scotia. Including direct mortality from vehicles, effects of noise pollution on reproduction, habitat fragmentation, and de-icing chemical effects on amphibian distribution and community structure.
