--=====================_1370890==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed This afternoon I took a brief break from errands to check out Red Bridge Pond in Dartmouth. I did not see the Caspian Tern, reported by Bernard Burke, but this urban pond hosts a lot of waterfowl and is always worth a look. Water levels were low; I don't remember seeing exposed sand bars in the middle of the lake before. Some ducks and the heron were loafing on them. Species present included the following : American Wigeon 45+ (the most abundant bird) American Black Duck/ Mallard/ and their hybrids 20+ Ring-necked Duck 5+ Double-crested Cormorant 1 Pied-billed Grebe 1 Great Blue Heron (imm.) 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 American Raven 1 Red-winged Blackbird 6+ etc. Cheers, Patricia L.
