Dr. Ken Lee at Bedford Inst. of Oceanography has been studying  
bioremediation (with bacteria etc.) of various kinds of spilled  
hydrocarbons including crude oil and its fractions for several  
decades, I think.  I am forwarding to Mark Butler of Ecol. Action
