Kwe msit wen (greetings all) Yesterday I went birding with Cathy and Allan Murrant of Port Morien, cape Breton. We went to Glace Bay beach, Port Morien sandbar, Homeville, and Morrissen Road. We spotted the following birds: Belted kingfisher Piper plover Herring gull Willet Yellow warbler Red eyed vireo Alder flycatcher Northern flicker Bank swallow Common yellow throat American robin Nelson sharp tailed sparrow Short billed dowitcher Whimbrel Hudsonian godwit Blue heron Ruddy turnstone Eagle Osprey Savanna sparrow Greater yellow legs Lesser yellow legs Semi palmated plover Common tern Loon Cormorant American crow The highlight was seeing the piping plover with three of the cutest baby chicks you have ever seen. Little fluffs on legs. 7 of the birds on the list were lifers for me. Pictures will be posted to my gallery as soon as I get back to Halifax Tuma Young Halifax/Cape Breton Sent from my iPhone
