We have several Monarch butterfly caterpillars growing on some milkweed inside and one has just attached to begin the transformation into a chrysalis. These were found last week but in looking for more have had little success. During the search, I have noticed more earwigs, lady bird beetles and spiders on the milkweed than I remember. I am wondering if this predators might have a dramatic effect on the survival of eggs and caterpillars on milkweed. At the moment there is only one Monarch flitting around our field. We have hundreds and hundreds of Common Wood Nymphs in our field. Larry Bogan Cambridge, Kings Co
