I am a graduate student in Alberta, and I was recently out in NS doing
some bird banding for my Masters. I would like to extend a huge thanks to
all of you who helped out, as well as to the people who offered feeders
and we were unable to visit due to time restrictions.

We were in NS from May 27-30 and again July 4-5, and during this time we
caught the following birds (either at feeders or in nearby areas).
Although we only banded our target species (chickadees, woodpeckers and
gray jays), we kept a record of all birds caught in the net.

American goldfinch = 5
black and white warbler = 2
bay-breasted warbler = 1
black-capped chickadee = 25
black-cap/boreal hybrid (will double check DNA) = 1
blue jay = 7
boreal chickadee = 2
common yellowthroat = 1
dark-eyed junco = 4
downy woodpecker = 3
golden-crowned kinglet = 1
gray jay = 1
hairy woodpecker = 7
hermit thrush = 1
magnolia warbler = 2
myrtle warbler = 1
Nashville warbler = 2
pine siskin = 1
purple finch = 7
red-breasted nuthatch = 2
runy-crowned kinglet = 3
red-eyed vireo = 1
Swainson's thrush = 1
white-breasted nuthatch = 1
yellow palm warbler = 2

Thanks again!

Linda
