The satellite tagged greater shearwaters are in various stages of =
migration. Two birds are well north, another 8 are well on their way =
spread out from northern Brazil to the mid-Atlantic but 2 birds have yet =
to show any northward migration. =
http://www.seaturtle.org/tracking/index.shtml?project_id=3D452 The =
migration is certainly staggered with most of the birds heading along =
the eastern coast of South America and North America, although the =
distance from the coast does vary greatly. One bird opted to travel up =
the North Atlantic, visiting the Cape Verde Islands and the Azores. =
Greater shearwaters numbers are growing in the Bay of Fundy from birds =
that must have started migrating well before the satellite tagged birds.
