Hi Lois,

If all eight "grrk"s fit inside a second or two, then the pattern, low  
and steady pitch, and throaty quality all fit Least Bittern.

Though it fits lots of other marsh sounds, too. A recording, even a  
rough one, would do the trick. I'm amazed at the sound quality people  
can now get with their cameras, cell phones, and other handheld things.
