A couple of recent observations. Yesterday had a first for my yard which
appeared to be a Black throated Green warbler. Very distinctive black throat
terminating in a point at the throat.
At the boat in Tantallon yesterday a flock of about 20 Bohemian Waxwings in
the bushes , and on the beach at Hubbards today hundreds of very small
fish stranded, about 1 to 2 inches in length. They had the shape and
appearance of mackerel or pollock, definitely not sand lance or gaspereau.
Noting the discussion of RB Nuthatches, they are usually one of my most
common visitors but are few this year, maybe one breeding pair.
