Watershed Alliance promotes projects

Village council heard a presentation about local environmental stewardship
projects from Susan Linkletter of the Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance (PWA)
at their meeting last week. Linkletter told council the PWA is working on
three projects of particular interest to Salisbury. The first, a fish fence
set up on the Petitcodiac River off of Parkin Street, is monitoring the
numbers and types of fish in the river. So far the project has yielded some
interesting information. She noted that by far the greatest number of fish
being observed are Gaspereaux. Only one salmon has so far been observed.
