Sylvia Fullerton = and I went down this am and chatted with the Stoddards who said the bird = had first shown up on Mother's Day but reappeared after the cold spell. = The bird is coming to a window feeder and they have seen the flash of = purple from within the house. Sylvia and I sat outside for 2 hours = watching the feeder and saw a hummingbird that could have been the = Black-chinned but we could not verify it. No pictures I took were = useful. There was a Ruby-throated hummingbird coming to the feeder as = well. We watched from shortly after 8 and noticed that the frequency of = visits increased as it got warmer. The visits were approximately at 5-10 = minute intervals. Thanks to Donna Ensor who had first gotten the call = from the Stoddards and alerted us. Later we did some atlassing around = Lockporte and pulled in for a lunch stop on a road called 'The Lane' and = heard a Willow Flycatcher. This lane is just below Rockland on the = Rockland Rd. which is on the east side of Lockporte Harbor (page 87 of = the Atlas). =20 Dorothy Poole ------=_NextPart_000_0005_01CAFEAF.BD714750 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.6000.17023" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>The hummingbird has been seen at the = Stoddard house=20 # 134 hwy 309 in Port Clyde (Exit 28 hwy 103) just beyond the = bridge.=20 Sylvia Fullerton and I went down this am and chatted with the Stoddards = who said=20 the bird had first shown up on Mother's Day but reappeared after the = cold spell.=20 The bird is coming to a window feeder and they have seen the flash of = purple=20 from within the house.
