Jean Hartley and I met while walking around the Frog Pond at Fleming
Park, Jollimore late this afternoon. I saw a very skulky Blue Jay
carrying nesting material. An Eastern Kingbird, the first I've seen
this year, was fluttering after insects in the canopy. We also saw a
Black-and-white Warbler, and several Yellow-rumped Warblers. The
Pied-billed Grebe which I first saw on Tuesday is still there, as
well as several Black Duck families.

Minnows were schooling in the shallows, and the Spring Peepers were
calling from the bog on the other side of the Purcell's Cove Road.

Pink Lady Slippers are now in bloom, as well as the Chokeberry trees.

	Cheers,

	Patricia L. Chalmers
	Halifax
