Today, both a male & female Purple Finch, visited one of the backyard feede=
rs here on Glenwood Avenue. Both stayed on the feeder for at least 15 minut=
es and I was able to approach them quite closely. Their eyes looked bright =
and clear.
Also, shortly after, 5 Cedar Waxwings descended. Did not stay long. Seemed =
to be gleaning branches for grubs perhaps?

Have now, 2 male & 2 female Red-winged Blackbirds=A0that seem to be=A0regul=
ars now. The males are definitely in a turf war at the moment. One is an im=
mature male, by the looks of the wing markings. Lots of chasing and swoopin=
g against each other.=20
