Hello,

 

I have added a few photos from the past weekend here:

I'd appreciate some help with identification of the shorebirds. Within the
series there are several of what I believe are an Eastern Willet. Can anyone
help me with determining if the other bird is a Greater Yellowlegs or a
Lesser Yellowlegs (direct links below)? The Yellowlegs was noticeably
smaller than the Willet:

The highlight of the weekend was late on Saturday morning when returning
home, and after turning into our subdivision a Merlin was near the side of
the road on a kill (I couldn't tell what it was) and being harassed by  two
crows. The Merlin flew into a small stand of trees trying to avoid the crows
but in a few moments one of the crows flew away with the Merlin's meal.
After the incident she perched on top of a tree just long enough for me to
grab several photos (the contrast isn't very good as the images were
originally fairly underexposed). Direct links below:
