Hi all:

=20

Gary Selig=2C Dorothy Poole and I did my second owl route last night. Numb=
er 49. It runs from Rhodes Corner to Whynotts Settlement and out to Maitla=
nd and ends at Sweetland. We had six barred owls and one northern saw-whet=
.

=20

I was sent a picture of a male rose-breasted grosbeak that was at a feeder =
on Sunday. I do not know the community yet=2C but will post it for the rec=
ord as soon as the person emails me back. =20

=20

I've got two locations where white-breasted nuthatches are making nests and=
carrying in nest material. One person notes that the male was bring the m=
aterials to the female who was building the nest. The female took the bark=
brought to her and rubbed it for a while as if to soften it up before taki=
ng it into the hole of a willow tree. Later pine needles were added.

=20

A week ago I was positive that I had three Black & white warblers. After l=
istening to my cd's to refamiliarize myself with the bird calls=2C I realiz=
ed that I was mistaken in my id. The three birds are brown creepers. =20

=20

I've had a report of two Canada warblers calling at Stanburne. This seems =
really early to me and has not been confirmed. I'll have to try to find ou=
t where this is and follow up on it after this weekend as the person report=
ing this is doing atlassing there. =20

=20

Lots of osprey have moved into this area over the past few days.

=20

I saw my first yellow butterfly. A sulfur or cabbage white. It disappeare=
d before I could confirm it.
