To add to all the reports of awakening Wood Frogs and Spring Peepers in the Martimes, I will mention an AMERICAN TOAD I came across this afternoon in Moncton. At the Riverview Marsh to be exact, hopping across a trail. I was able to capture it and show it to Stuart Tingley and company, who were looking for a Snow Goose reported earlier in the morning (not present). It turned out to be a very well photographed toad. I've heard them in the last week of April in previous years, but this beats all.
