A trip to Shelburne and Pubnico this weekend yielded only two birds of
note:
a Gray Jay flew over the car yesterday between Barrington and Pubnico (
a usual location for them).
Today around 11 am near Bob and the Boys Market in Lunenburg Co., David
Erskine spotted a hawk which "did not look like a Red tail". While I was
turning the car, he noticed the dark wing tips and tail edge and that
when it perched it looked all dark. Indeed it was a dark phase
Rough-legged hawk.
