Index of Subjects Like you, we haven't seen any Red-polls this winter nor any Purple Finches but have had American goldfinches pretty regularly all this winter here in this area of Dartmouth. Also, several Song & White-throated Sparrows & a number of BC Chickadees have been common residents too. Have had both Downy & Hairy Woodpeckers, slews of Starlings, & crows, which seem to be pairing up now. Theses past 4 or 5 days, there are a number of Robins making an appearance. The (very successfull, in my yard, anyway) Sharp-shinned Hawk/Merlin (truly now not sure which) patrols the neighborhood pretty much daily. And a Red-tailed Hawk that's been seen pretty regularly now for a few weeks here in Dartmouth, spent alot of time yesterday overhead of the green-belt behind our house, of course, constantly being harrased by the crows. And the over-wintering Orange-crowned Warbler continues to do well, enjoying morning and evening offerings of meal-worms and a fresh batch of homemade suet fruit plum pudding! Here's hoping I can continue to give weekly positive updates this winter, on this marvelous little bird. He certainly is a survivor!
