The title of the presentation is: Piping Plovers in Nova Scotia: What =20=

we know and don't know, and why there's hope for recovery, by Sue Abbott

Sue Abbott has worked for over ten years on bird monitoring, research =20=

and conservation projects =96 from seabirds to shorebirds to songbirds. =20=

Understanding the effects of human disturbance on birds and habitats =20
and using outreach as a tool to mitigate this threat are two common =20
threads that link much of her past and present work. Sue is a program =20=

coordinator for Bird Studies Canada, a national non-profit dedicated =20
to increasing the appreciation, understanding and conservation of =20
Canada=92s birds. She currently coordinates the Piping Plover =20
Conservation Program and the Important Bird Area Program in Nova Scotia.

The meeting is open to the public.
