Good morning All,

The Orange-crowned Warbler continues to be doing well here at my backyard feeders & also at my neighbor's, the Coopers, 2 houses up.
It is enjoying the mealworms and plum pudding, but then, again, so do the Starlings :o( so I have to time my mealworm offerings really early in the morning (because that's when the Warbler shows up) and 'deep into dusk' in the evening, after the Starlings depart. The Warbler seems to be a late diner.
With these recent mild temps, the Warbler is seldom seen during the day at all, maybe it is finding some bugs/fly's, emerging with the warmer temps and sunshine, on its own. Actually, there are hardly any birds around during the day at all, these last few days. Haven't seen the Sharp-shinned Hawk/Merlin? in a few days either, but maybe it's still around.
Anyway, here's hoping all will continue to go well for this charming little Warbler, that, I have to admit, I've become quite attached to.

Sincerely,

Gayle MacLean
Dartmouth
