Hi all- I had "all the usual suspects" at my feeders for the Great
Backyard Bird Count.
2 Bluejays,
2 Song Sparrows
12 Am. Goldfinch
8 E. Starlings
3 Downy Woodpeckers ( 1 male, 2 females with in a 15 min. period)
1 Am Crow
MODOs - There were an extra lot of Mourning Doves ( about 20 in all).
No Juncos here since autumn.
I have not been able to coax the male Cardinal from #14 St. Margaret's
Bay Road over, but had nice looks at it from Bonnie and David
Carmichael's kitchen window this week. Thanks, neighbours! Also saw the
female Baltimore Oriole, which has been there since mid- September. It
looks much brighter than the one that was here at 11 Balcome. It loves
the green grapes, suet, jelly which Bonnie puts out daily. Happy
Valentine's Day everyone!
