All: I scouted "my" area at Conrad Beach briefly today - looks pretty bleak. Ub passing, it seems Sullivans Pond is largely frozen over, as is most of Cole Harbour. The only concentration of waterfowl I encountered was at the mouth of the Little Salmon River where it empties into Cole Hbr. Along with the usual Am. Black Ducks and Mallards, there were several wigeon and Green-winged Teal, a N. Pintail, a couple of Ring-neckeds, and several Hooded Mergansers. Bad light and brief stop, so I didn't look closely for e.g. female Eur. Wigeon, but the group will bear close study tomorrow. James Cameron e-mailed more photos of the two Snow Geese near Sheet Hbr., HRM, as reported earlier. They were still present - white on white - yesterday. All best, Ian Ian McLaren
