Johnny Nickerson phoned me to pass along the following sightings of
interest, including some new additions to the Nova Scotia Winter List
(which is at http://tinyurl.com/nswinter ).

Rose-breasted Grosbeak -- previously reported at Johnny's feeder, but
not seen for the past three days

Ring-necked Duck -- a flock of 200+ in the Pembroke area of Yarmouth County

Ring-billed Gull -- 120 adults at Daniel's Head, Cape Sable Island,
on Monday, 7th Dec., an unprecedented number for Cape Sable
Island. None could be found the following day.

Belted Kingfisher, Orange-crowned Warbler, and Baltimore Oriole -- at
Atwood's Brook, the warbler and oriole at Terry Crowell's feeder.

Snowy Owl -- one only, on an island in the passage between Cape Sable
Island and the Cape Light. Dec. 8

Peregrine Falcon -- at The Hawk Dec. 8

Northern Shrike -- one seen in early December in Yarmouth County by
Ethelda Murphy and June Graves.

House Finch -- several along the road leading to Cape Forchu, near Yarmouth

Great Horned Owl -- along the Clyde River Road.
