Prospect area: A quick check of the immediate area when walking the pooch produced the following: Spotted Towhee at the Hawkins' feeder in Hatchet Lake (details on the NS-Rare Bird Alert) - tinyurl.com/rbans Northern Cardinal in my yard here in White's Lake A very good selection of waterfowl (for the Head of Prospect Bay, that is) - Red-breasted and Hooded Mergansers, Bufflehead, American Black Duck, and the lone, lingering female Greater Scaup. Other yard birds: White-throated Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Boreal Chickadee, junco, Downy and Hairy Woodpecker, Red-breasted Nuthatch.
