In addition to the killdeer foraging on my survey beach, I found something=
else that I thought was a little unusual. The only thing I can think of fo=
r it to be is a whale bone - possibly the radius or ulna. I took a couple o=
f photos, which you can view here. Click on the thumbnails for a larger ima=
ge. The first is a side view to show its overall shape; note that the tape =
measure above the bone is extended to twenty inches, not centimeters. The s=
econd is more of an end view to show the slight twist midshaft. Can anyone =
confirm (or correct) my thoughts on what it is, or maybe even suggest a pos=
sible species?=0A=0AKathleen MacAulay=0AMilford Station=0A=0A=0A _____=
