This afternoon, there was an adult graellsii Lesser Black-backed Gull with a group of large
gulls bathing in a stream at Eagle Head Beach, E of Brooklyn, Queen's Co.

I don't believe I've ever seen a LBBG in Queen's Co. before; they seem to be pretty scarce
along that section of the South Shore.

Elsewhere, a nice passage of Common Loons off Western Head, also in Queen's Co.; 15 in
only a few minutes (including 7 in one group). I was not there for long, so the number going
by may well have been considerable today.
